Lay liturgical leaders develops and directs liturgical ministers to provide leadership on Sundays and other special liturgies that will lead parishioners “to that full, conscious, and active participation in liturgical celebrations called for by the very nature of the liturgy
Lectors
The lector is instituted to proclaim the readings from Sacred Scripture, with the exception of the Gospel. They may also announce the intentions for the Universal Prayer and, in the absence of a psalmist, recite the Psalm between the readings.
Extraordinary Ministers of the Holy Communion
An Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion is a parishioner, selected by the Pastor and mandated by the Bishop, who serves, distributes, and administers the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ during the Holy Communion or Eucharist of the Church Service.
Music Ministry
The Music ministry is charged with enlivening the Mass with soulful and uplifting music. Musicians and singers are welcomed.
Ministers of Hospitality (Ushers and Greeters)
Ministers of Hospitality greet and welcome parishioners as they enter the church; distribute hymnals, song sheets, and bulletins; take up the collection; facilitate the Communion Procession; direct parishioners to social events, meetings, and other special events; and straighten up the church after Mass.
